Lisa Bengtsson's colour recommendations

Written by Kai Bergen | 16.14.2024

Swedish wallpaper designer Lisa Bengtsson is known for her expressive patterns. We asked her to select matching colours from the MEINEWAND range that can be combined with her most famous wallpapers.

Hippo wallpaper

The colour Boringdon Green from Little Greene and Pink Ground from Farrow & Ball are taken from the colours of the striking animal wallpaper. Lisa Bengtsson also suggests Dimity from Farrow & Ball as a white colour to match the wallpaper.

For accents in the room, she opted for the striking orange Charlotte's Locks from Farrow & Ball. The red component of the plain-coloured background of the wallpaper creates a connection to Charlotte's Locks.

Rock on Wallpaper

Oval Room Blue and Sulking Room Pink from Farrow & Ball are taken from the colours of this special fish wallpaper and provide a harmonious addition to the room. The green shade Arsenic was chosen by Lisa Bengtsson for accents in the room. Here, the blue-green of the plain background provides a connection to the wallpaper. She also suggests Dimity from Farrow & Ball as a complementary shade of white.

Sunday Wallpaper

The broad colour spectrum of the Scandinavian-inspired floral wallpaper allows many combinations with colours from Farrow & Ball or Little Greene.

Lisa Bengtsson picks up on the rich palette of purple and green tones with Brinjal and Preference Red or Bancha, Ball Green and Card Room Green. She recommends Shaded White from Farrow & Ball to complement the wallpaper. Lisa Bengtsson suggests Bombole from Little Greene as a warm contrasting colour.

Dodo Wallpaper

Eating Room Red by Farrow & Ball picks up on the red and purple tones of this pleasantly eccentric bird pattern. The subtle Pink Ground from Farrow & Ball also fits in well. Dimity from Farrow & Ball complements the wallpaper as a shade of white. Red Earth from Farrow & Ball works well as a contrasting colour. Lisa Bengtsson was inspired by the wood colour of the table in the foreground. In combination with the wallpaper, it creates an eye-catching yet warm accent in the room.

Wallpaper Hippo Grey

Lisa Bengtsson has taken the colours Studio Green, School House White and Ball Green from Little Greene from the pattern, so they match the wallpaper harmoniously. The warm brown colour Muscovado appears in the basket in the foreground. It creates contrasts and a cosy atmosphere at the same time.

Swanlake Pink Wallpaper

The Little Greene shades Jack Black, the white tone Shirting and the deep red tone Baked Cherry, which corresponds to the colour of the beaks of the magnificent swans, are taken from the pattern of the wallpaper. Lisa Bengtsson opted for Mischief, also from Little Greene, as a contrasting colour. This shade of violet is the strong version of the plain background. It therefore catches the eye, but is still related to the pattern of the wallpaper.
