French design tradition and high professional skills have been passed down through four generations at Lelièvre since 1914. The Parisian family business is famous worldwide for its wallpapers and luxurious fabrics. The style ranges from classic chique to the avant-garde patterns of Jean Paul Gaultier.
Today, the company is run by Emmanuel Lelièvre and is still located in the Second Arrondissement of Paris on Rue du Mail. It now brings together several brands under one roof.
Timeless style
Fantastic, hand-produced silk fabrics for historic buildings, exquisite custom-made designs for hotels and the interior design of top gastronomy are just as much part of the portfolio as the timeless motifs of the wallpaper brand Lelièvre. With their own style, the high-quality wallpapers with fine surfaces and selected materials appeal to all the senses.
The in-house creative studio, led by artistic director Ingrid Lager, grants Lelièvre wallpaper designs complete creative freedom. They do not want to submit to fashion trends. "Our style is to let the patterns speak for themselves," says Lager. These are inspired by art, travel, French history and faraway countries.
Avant-garde by Jean Paul Gaultier
With the wallpapers by Jean Paul Gaultier, Lelièvre has also been presenting the wallpapers and fabrics of the influential French fashion designer for several years. Just like his clothing collections, the wallpapers are always surprising: strict geometric prints, expressive photo collages, playful Japanese drawings and patterns that play with the border of kitsch bring Gaultier's design genius to the wall.
