The designer wallpaper label KEK Amsterdam has dedicated itself to motifs that pay homage to the golden age of Dutch painting. Its large-format panorama wallpaper can be used in a variety of ways.
"There is something magical about wallpaper. They completely change the interior and the character of a house," says designer Evert Kok, who founded the wallpaper label KEK Amsterdam together with two siblings over 10 years ago.
Already the first wallpaper collection by KEK Amsterdam brought the highlights of Dutch painting to your wall: opulent flowers taken from famous still lifes by the Old Masters, landscape panoramas, city views of the 18th century as well as plants and animals of all kinds. Many designs were enlarged, as here the wallpaper Golden Age Flowers 1.
When designing the wallpapers, KEK Amsterdam's creative team ensures that every detail of the original artwork is carefully transferred to print. All wallpaper is produced on a high-quality non-woven backing. Therefore, they are particularly easy to apply: The paste is applied to the wall, then the wallpaper is attached.
The wide range of designs that pay tribute to the Golden Age of Dutch art fit equally well in living rooms and bedrooms. The innovative Bigger Than Life motifs also look good in large rooms and are used for the interior design of hotels, restaurants and shops worldwide.
In addition to oil paintings, as in the case of the Golden Age Landscapes 2 wallpaper, copper engravings are also reproduced, either minimalist in white, grey or opulent in gold. The look is impressive in all cases.
Also available is a colouring in the iconic blue tones of Delft porcelain, as seen here in the Royal Blue Flowers 1 Wallpaper by KEK Amsterdam.
New to KEK Amsterdam's portfolio is the motif Golden Age Landscapes 7, which is taken from a Dutch tapestry. Thanks to its green and off-white tones, the iconic panorama wallpaper adds warmth to the room.
